Lancaster Environment Center: JAZZ AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO BUSINESS TRAVEL: A CARBON FOOTPRINT ANALYSIS [English]
The report aims to quantify the potential carbon emissions benefits the implementation the Jazz telepresence smart-machine could achieve as an alternative to business travel and commuting. A carbon footprint of the entire life cycle of the Jazz robot is calculated and compared to the carbon footprints of business travel for a range of businesses as well as the carbon footprint associated with the average commuter. The key findings can be found below:
• The footprint of Jazz is the equivalent to the footprint of the average £300 return flight or an amount of rail travel costing approximately £1600.
• A business spending £500,000 annually on business travel could cut their carbon emissions by 10% by using money that would have been spent on business travel to purchase 17 Jazz robots instead.

Telepresence Robots Reviewed [English]
Thanks to telepresence systems employing robots it is no longer required for people to be bound to their desks around terminals when sharing information, in this way a true “on-location” experience is possible, enabling remote users to spot various issues exactly where they take place in the field, as opposed to taking information from reports presented in a conference room, or doctors to perform surgeries at remote location or teaching medicine students various procedures and so much more. In this two part article we aim at rounding up telepresence robots and kits readily available on the market or that will be released in the near future...
